Alcohol Misuse Prevention

Responsible Sales Training

It’s critical that staff members are properly trained to safely sell or serve alcohol. Healthy Acadia offers Responsible Sales Training (RST) training sessions for managers and employees of alcohol retail establishments, restaurants, and bars across Hancock and Washington counties. Our 3-hour training sessions provide staff with the knowledge to better prevent violations of liquor laws and serve alcohol safely, with an emphasis on preventing underage and high-risk drinking.

Participants learn how to ensure that safe business practices are implemented within the workplace. Healthy Acadia staff will walk participants through numerous possible scenarios, examine fake identification cards, review excerpts from the Maine liquor laws, and discusses all the factors that go into making alcohol handling a safe business.

This spring, Healthy Acadia is presenting state-certified Responsible Beverage Server & Seller Training sessions.  And they’re FREE!

If you own a restaurant or store where alcohol is sold, be sure to schedule free training for your managers and employees.
If you’re considering a summer job in hospitality, service or a convenience store, you’ll want to add this training to your resume.

Healthy Acadia will train at your place of business, OR remotely over Zoom.

AlcoholScreening.org

How Much is Too Much?

Center for Addiction’s AlcoholScreening.org is a free and anonymous online self-screening tool that helps people assess their alcohol consumption patterns to determine if their drinking is likely to be harming their health or increasing their risk for future harm.

Through education and referral, the site provides opportunities to those whose drinking patterns may harmful or hazardous to take positive action, and informs all adults who consume alcohol about guidelines and caveats for lower-risk drinking.
